Privacy

I Love Oviedo is an independent community site for Oviedo, Florida. It is not the City of Oviedo. This page says what we collect and why, in plain words.

Best of Oviedo voting

To vote you give us an email address and a ZIP code. We use the email to send you a one-time sign-in link and to make sure each person votes once. We use the ZIP code to count only votes from Oviedo. We also keep a scrambled version of your internet connection address and browser, which we use only to spot automated or duplicate voting. We never publish who voted for what.

If you tick the newsletter box we add you to The Oviedo Weekly. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

We don't sell or share your email with businesses, sponsors or anyone else. Businesses on the ballot can see how many people visited their vote link, never who.

Where it's stored

Voting data is stored in a Cloudflare database in the United States. Emails go out through Cloudflare's email service. Our bot check is Cloudflare Turnstile, which does not use tracking cookies.

Cookies

When you open a sign-in link we set one cookie so you stay signed in on that device for the voting season. That's the only cookie we set.

Your choices

Email hello@iloveoviedo.com to see what we have on you, correct it, or have it deleted. Deleting your record also removes your votes.
