Greetings from Oviedo, Florida

About I Love Oviedo

Dear neighbor,

I Love Oviedo is an independent guide to Oviedo, Florida, made by people who live here. It's where you find a plumber who'll answer the phone, this weekend's festival, your school zone, and the businesses your neighbors picked in Best of Oviedo.

We started in 2026 to put the answers in one place, from the business directory and the events calendar to trash day and home prices, and to check each one against its source.

We're not the City of Oviedo or the Chamber. We're neighbors with a directory, a calendar, and a habit of checking every phone number twice.

Who runs it

I Love Oviedo is run by a small team of Oviedo residents who write and edit as the I Love Oviedo editors. A person in Oviedo reads every message, reviews every listing request and checks every date before it's published.

The site is independent. It isn't owned by the City, the Chamber, a newspaper chain or a national directory, and no business or advertiser decides what we publish.

How we check what we publish

Businesses
Every listing is a real business that serves Oviedo. We check the name, address, phone and website against the business's own site. Owners who claim a listing confirm by email, and our team reviews every request before it goes live.
Reviews
Resident reviews are written by signed-in I Love Oviedo users and signed with their first name and last initial. A person reads every reviewer's first review before it goes live. We don't write reviews, buy them or remove bad ones; a review comes down only for a written reason, and praise and complaints follow the same rules. Web star ratings come from public reviews elsewhere and are labeled separately.
Events
Dates come from the organizer, the city or the county, and every event links to its source. A date we expect but can't confirm yet is marked as expected.
News
News items are short summaries of local reporting, each linked to the original story so you can read the whole thing.
City answers
Answers about trash, utilities, voting and permits link to the official source: the City of Oviedo, Seminole County or the State of Florida.

When we get something wrong

Tell us. Use the contact page or email hello@iloveoviedo.com with the page and what's wrong. A person reads every message.

We check the fix with the business or an official source, then update the page. If a correction changes something important, like an event date or a school zone, we say on the page that it was corrected. Business owners can also claim their free listing and keep their own hours and phone number current.

How we make money

From business listings. Every Oviedo business can have a free listing. Businesses that want more can pay for Featured or Premium.

Business listing plans and prices
PlanWhat it adds
Free$0Name, address, phone, hours, category and web ratings. Owners can claim it and keep it current.
Featured$59 a monthLogo, photos, a full description, up to three categories and top placement in its category, always labeled Featured.
Premium$199 a monthEverything in Featured, plus a message form, homepage rotation, a promoted event and a spot in the newsletter.

What money never buys

  • A better star rating, or a bad review taken down.
  • A spot that isn't labeled. Paid placements always say Featured.
  • A Best of Oviedo win. Paid status has no effect on the vote.
  • Your data. We don't sell resident information to anyone.

How Best of Oviedo stays fair

Best of Oviedo is the award residents vote on every year. An award only means something if nobody can buy it, so the rules are published before a single vote is cast:

  • Only residents of ZIP 32765 and 32766 count, and each voter confirms by email.
  • One vote per person per category. Look-alike addresses and temporary inboxes are caught.
  • Duplicate, automated and out-of-area votes are removed before counting, and we publish how many.
  • Sponsors can't win a category they sponsor, and no business has to pay anything to be nominated or win.
  • Every business on the ballot can get a free voting kit, so the award is about customers, not budgets.

Questions people ask

Is this the City of Oviedo's website?

No. I Love Oviedo is independent. For city services, go to the City of Oviedo at cityofoviedo.net or City Hall at 400 Alexandria Blvd. Our city guide links to the right office for common questions.

How do I add or fix my business listing?

Search for your business on the free listing page and claim it, or add it if it isn't listed. A free listing stays free. Our team checks every request before it goes live. Add or claim your listing.

Can a business pay to win Best of Oviedo?

No. Paid listings, sponsors and advertisers get no advantage in the vote, and a sponsor can't win a category it sponsors. Winners are decided by verified resident votes. Read the Best of Oviedo rules.

Where do the star ratings come from?

Two places, labeled separately. Resident reviews are written on I Love Oviedo by signed-in neighbors, one review per person per business. The web rating is the average of public reviews elsewhere. Paying for a listing changes neither.

Do you sell my email?

No. Your email is used for what you signed up for: your Best of Oviedo ballot link or The Oviedo Weekly. You can unsubscribe in one click. Read the privacy policy.

Do you cover Winter Springs, Chuluota and Geneva?

The directory includes businesses that serve Oviedo, and some are based in Winter Springs, Chuluota or Geneva. Best of Oviedo voting is for residents of ZIP 32765 and 32766.

How do I get my event on the calendar?

Send us the details. Suggesting an event is free, and we check every one before it goes on the calendar. Suggest an event.
