Gyms in Oviedo, FL: 5 Options for Your Routine

Finding a gym in Oviedo usually comes down to which part of the routine you can actually protect. I’d start with your week before looking at rates: the early morning slot that has to happen, the lunch window that sometimes vanishes, the Saturday morning you want to keep free. A gym with 24/7 access, a city fitness room, a club with a pool, and an independent gym with classes all solve different versions of that week. So this guide sorts five verified Oviedo options by the routines they can fit. I'd rather know the annual total and the cancellation rule than get excited about a promo.

Planet Fitness

Planet Fitness is the low-cost single-club option. The Oviedo branch at 19 Alafaya Woods Blvd is open and staffed 24/7, which is the real draw if your schedule is irregular. The Classic rate I’m using is $15/month, plus a $29 startup fee and a $49 annual fee, before tax. That’s for your home club only and the offer expires October 23, 2026. Guest access and other clubs belong to a higher tier, not Classic. Ask for the all-in checkout total so the annual fee doesn’t surprise you later.

Momentum

Momentum is my pick if you’ll actually attend classes and want a local independent gym rather than a chain. The Individual Unlimited plan is $39.99/month with a $35 maintenance fee at joining and again each anniversary, which makes a 12-month total of $514.88 before tax or add-ons. The gym floor is open 24/7 by keycard, but that’s not the same as staff on site at 2 a.m. You still arrange keycard pickup during staffed hours.

All group classes are included in that unlimited option, which is the strongest reason to pay more than Planet Fitness. If you’re curious but not ready to join, there’s no public gym day pass. The $10 class drop-in or $75 ten-class pass gets you class access only, not the gym floor, and you’ll book ahead through the app or email. The ten-class pass expires after one year.

LA Fitness

LA Fitness suits a swim-and-lift routine if amenities matter more than the feel of a local independent gym. The Oviedo club at 199 Mitchell Hammock Rd lists an indoor pool, basketball, group fitness, weights, cardio, sauna, and a whirlpool spa. Kids Klub, personal training, and racquetball carry asterisked extra fees or separate conditions you’d confirm at the desk. Hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends, with holidays varying. That early weekday window is generous, but Sunday evening is not. Ask the club for a written quote covering monthly, startup, and annual fees plus which amenities are included before you join.

Oviedo YMCA

The Oviedo YMCA at 7900 Red Bug Lake Rd is the pick when the decision has to serve a household, not just one person. The branch has weights and cardio, group classes, a pool, and a PlayCenter, but what your family gets depends on your membership tier. The $35 starting banner on the branch page is not a full family, pool, and childcare price. Ask for a household quote with the exact tier you’d actually use. The Y also requires reservations for lap-swim workouts and group exercise, so check the official schedule before planning a spur-of-the-moment visit. Confirm PlayCenter child eligibility and hours separately before assuming you can drop a kid off while you lift.

City of Oviedo fitness room

The City of Oviedo fitness room at 148 Oviedo Blvd is the low-key option for a single room on a daytime schedule. Fitness room admission doesn’t include aquatic or basketball access. Before the math, one distinction: the city’s annual rec membership ($35 resident, $70 nonresident) is separate from the fitness room pass. Buying it unlocks a discounted annual fitness room pass, but you don’t need to own it to pay the nonmember rate. Also, an Oviedo mailing address isn’t the same as the city’s resident qualification, and the city checks that separately. Minimum age is 16.

The fitness room hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–8:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Daily nonmember rates are $6 resident or $9 nonresident.

Here’s the annual version from the adopted FY26/27 fee schedule, for one adult starting fresh, before taxes or add-ons:

The surprising row is the nonresident one: if you’re outside city limits and only want the fitness room, the new rec membership plus discounted pass totals $452.50, which is $2.50 more than just paying the nonmember annual pass. For residents, it’s the opposite: $341 with the new rec membership saves $19 versus $360. If you already own a rec membership, add only the discounted pass: $306 resident or $382.50 nonresident.

Before you sign

Arrange a trial or tour during the hours you’d actually use, because a 24/7 badge doesn’t mean help is always available. Ask three things at checkout: the total due today, the annual or maintenance fee schedule, and the cancellation or notice rule. Momentum’s public gym pass isn’t available, so if you’re curious there, book the $10 class drop-in at least 24 hours ahead and treat it as a class sample, not a gym trial. For LA Fitness, ask which extras are separate fees. For the Y, confirm PlayCenter hours and reservations separately. Pick the option where the schedule, annual total, and inclusions match your actual week, then get that in writing before you join.

Rates and facility details checked October 20, 2026 from each operator’s official Oviedo pages, plus the City of Oviedo adopted FY26/27 fee schedule PDF. Planet Fitness Classic figures reflect the published offer expiring October 23, 2026. Promotional rates, taxes, and add-on fees can change, so confirm the checkout total with the venue before joining.
