Summer Camps in Oviedo: Compare Full-Day & Specialty Options

Summer camp planning in Oviedo has a funny rhythm: parents start thinking about it long before anybody has posted next year's dates. I get it—childcare coverage doesn't wait for a brochure. As of October 19, 2026, the linked provider pages still show older details or a 2027 TBD notice, so this is a planning guide built from the most recent verified details, not a registration calendar. The first real decision is whether you need full-day hours that hold a workday together or a specialty camp built around a kid's interest. Both have a place in Oviedo, and the comparison below should make the choice feel less like guesswork.

Choose by coverage first, then interest

City of Oviedo CLUB Oviedo

The City of Oviedo CLUB Oviedo page describes a full-day program at the Gymnasium and Aquatic Facility at 148 Oviedo Blvd., with pre-camp care from 7:30am, core programming 9am to 4:30pm, and after-care until 6pm. The city’s posted weekly rates are $265 for residents and $285 for non-residents on regular weeks with field trips, or $220 and $240 on fun weeks without trips—but the fee grid doesn’t state which year those numbers belong to, so treat them as last posted, not confirmed 2027.

The program is deliberately active: the city asks parents to consider a child’s interest and energy level because many hours are spent outdoors in physical activity. Daily sign-in and sign-out with photo ID is required; the city page also links a waiver and parent-pickup form. The refund policy gives you a window: a written request within 48 hours of payment gets a full refund, but after those 48 hours and no later than the Thursday before your session, the city keeps 50% as an administrative fee.

The city’s phone number for the gym is 407-971-5568. Whether you’re a city resident for fee purposes depends on actual city limits, not a mailing address, so the city-limits look-up can save you from a surprise rate.

Songbirds art camps

Songbirds Music, Art, & Dance Center is the specialty-art pick, but don’t let the “music” in the name mislead you: the 2026 summer lineup was mostly clay, painting, and other art themes. The 2026 brochure, updated in early June, is the linked summer reference, and it described full-day camps from 9am to 4pm with drop-off as early as 8am at no charge. That matters because the core day is shorter than the city’s care window; optional extended care from 4pm to 6pm cost $10 per day in 2026.

Most camps were for kids entering grades 1–6, with a few open to entering grades 3–8 or 6–9, and completed kindergarten was the stated minimum. For a concrete number, the 2026 Crazy Clay five-day week ran $295, and adding five days of extended care brought it to $345 before card or other fees.

The same 2026 materials spelled out a $50 nonrefundable deposit per camp, full payment four weeks before the start date, and a 3% credit-card fee. Refund requests had to be emailed at least four weeks before the session for consideration; later emergencies were considered case by case.

Campers bring their own lunch, two snacks, and a drink. See the Songbirds local listing for the studio at 181 E Mitchell Hammock Rd in Oviedo. You can open the brochure and the current camp calendar together.

YMCA elementary camp, last listed in Winter Springs

The YMCA’s 2026 elementary listing offered a nearby full-day option. For summer 2026, the Oviedo YMCA listed drop-off and pick-up at The Foundry Church, 1491 E State Rd 434 in Winter Springs, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., not at the Red Bug Lake branch. The published grade range is a little contradictory, so ask the exact entering or completed grade for the week you’re looking at. That 2026 page also showed a one-time $25 nonrefundable registration fee per child, with weekly tuition set separately and not published on the page. Treat it as a lead to verify, not a plan to book.

Questions worth asking before you commit

These are the practical gaps that vary from year to year and household to household:

If you’re new to the area and camp eligibility depends on grade, it can help to check school information for your address as a separate step. And if full-day camp coverage isn’t what you’re after, the swim-lesson comparison is a recurring-activity option, not a full-day childcare substitute. You can also browse local family programs; just know that a listing doesn’t mean a camp has been announced for 2027 yet.
